Roman paid another visit to Nevada's on Saturday for the Bolton away game. Oddly enough it was the same fixture last season when he visited us for the first time ! Following the game he posed for photographs with everyone who wanted one and signed all autographs too, including a Nevada Smiths t-shirt that we'd all signed for Alan, (affectionately known as "Billy Idol") who's in hospital at the moment. Roman you are truly a class act.

For the second year in a row the Connecticut Blues hosted the New York Blues at the Tigin pub in Stamford, Connecticut for the Blackburn home game on October 24th. And just like last year, it poured most of the day too ! Besides Blues from New York, New Jersey and all over Connecticut making the trip, we were also joined by members of the Pittsburgh Blues and Pacific Coast Blues and it was a pleasure seeing you all there.

Connecticut Blues and New York Blues met up at the Tigin pub in Stamford, Connecticut for the WBA away game on November 15th. It was a road trip for both groups too as the Connecticut Blues are based in New Haven, which is further north and about the same distance to Stamford as Manhattan is. And to make our Chelsea 'away' game experience even more realistic it poured with rain most of the day !

Mandy and Keith of the Grimsby Blues joined us at Nevada's for the Blackburn game last Sunday and brought their flag with them. A group photo is on the Visitors page.

The Chelsea Youth Team (pictured left) played in the Newark International Cup this past week but although playing some very good football unfortunately lost to Mexico in the Final. A number of NYB's went to see them and a full report will be posted shortly. A larger version of the photo can be seen on the Blue News page.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Mark Worrall, the auther of three books about following Chelsea, to Nevada Smiths, on Tuesday November 4th for the Roma game. Mark gave out back issue's of the cfcuk fanzine aswell as having a number of his books with him. Contact us at CFCinNYC@yahoo.com if you'd like to buy one.
Here's a bit about him - A longstanding Chelsea FC season ticket holder, Mark's first book, 'Over Land and Sea' published in 2004, chronicled the adventures of the Gate 17 boys as they followed the Blues around Europe. 'Blue Murder-Chelsea Till I Die' a biographical account of the life and times of Johnny Nipper was published in May 2007. In July 2007 Gate 17 Books was established, the first Gate 17 title a second edition of 'Over Land and Sea' was published in November 2007. A follow up book, 'One Man Went to Mow' was published by Gate 17 on January 15th 2008. Mark also writes regular articles for the CFCnet website and cfcuk, the number 1 Chelsea FC fanzine. Londoner's definitely made their presence felt at Nevada's last week as besides Tone's Bar being represented, the Cyprus Blues joined us for the Everton game. They actually had tickets for the game but as it was brought forward two days, instead of flying their flag at Goodison they flew it at Nevada's instead !

Steve from Tone's Bar in North Cheam, Surrey was back at Nevada's and watched the Wigan game with us on Monday. He handed out Tone's Bar t-shirts with the logo on the left, and Simon returned the compliment by giving him the very first NYB t-shirt from our new run, which will be ready in May. For those who are not aware of Tone's Bar, Tone from Tone's Bar was featured along with our very own Hollywood in the Blue Revolution film. We've now forged a special relationship with Tone's Bar and any future group trips over will definitely include a trip to this Chelsea stronghold.

Ronni, we just want to let you know that we're all thinking of you and hoping for a speedy recovery. We'll see you when we're over in March.

Pictured above from the Daily Mail, is our very own Andrew Pink (no. 9), playing for the British national team, under the name of Club Martinus, in the Dutch professional volleyball league. Sound odd ? UK Sport has borrowed Club Martinus for one season and filled it with players they are developing for the 2012 Olympics in London. Good luck Pink from all of us on the terraces at Nevada's. We hope you can make it back soon, or if not hopefully we can meet up with you on our group trip next Spring.

Today, Chelsea launched a website for fans in the US. This is the first time a European club has created a website dedicated to its fans over here, and in celebration of the launch, Chelsea are hosting a competition for fans to win a trip for four to London to see the Blues play at Stamford Bridge. So come on down, bring your friends, have a pint or two (beer or soda !) and enjoy watching three of the most successful years in Chelsea history from the point of view of players, fans and our beloved Jose Mourinho

Simon will, of course, be on hand to sign any and all bellies ;-)

It's going to be a Blue Day and Evening !

Ronni and Robert flew our flag at the Bridge earlier this month. Robert brought it over and it will be back in April when we do our annual trip. Thanks to everyone in the UK who's contacted us after seeing it hanging from the Shed Upper, its always great to hear from you.

We had the honour of Rose and Rue from the Barmy Army visit us at Nevada's on 5/19 and they brought their famous flag with them too. Photo's are in the JT's Barmy Army gallery.

Tommy Smoot and a number of NY Blues were back in London for the Tottenham game and Peter Osgood Tribute on 3/11. This was our first home game since Ossie's death and after the game Tommy met up with some Chelsea Legends and sent us some photo's which are now up on the Blue News page. They are absolutely amazing !

Unfortunately things didn't work out as planned as we never made contact with Tommy, who flew into London the evening before the Liverpool game. So Curtis Kaminski, from the Pittsburgh Blues, stepped in and presented our award to Super Frank in the East Stand Reception Area a couple of hours before the game kicked off. As it was Super Bowl day, and Pittsburgh were in it, Curtis also gave Frank one of the famous yellow "Terrible Towels" which Frank is holding underneath the award! Curtis also gave Frank a towel for each player in the team. From left to right in the photo are Dan Pennucci, Jonathan Montgomery, Super Frank, Steve Neat (half covered but gets in yet another Presentation photo!), Mike Neat and Curtis Kaminski.

Just before going over to London to present our 2004/05 Player Of The Year award to Frank Lampard, we posed for pictures with the trophy outside Nevada's after the Charlton game last Sunday. Tommy Smoot, who's in the front row holding the trophy, will be presenting it to Frank !

The signed shirt that Big Blue gave us for co-sponsoring Kerry Dixon's trip over has now been framed and is hanging on the wall above where we gather at Nevada's. A larger photo is on the Blue News page.

Kerry became the first ever Chelsea player to visit us at Nevada Smiths. And we are eternally grateful ! There's more photo's of Kerry and from the tour on the US Tour 2005 page.

It wasn't a blue bus, but the weather held out and we had blue sky for our bus ride around Manhattan. Read Mike's report on the Bus Ride page.
